I am a prizewinning multidisciplinary artist and bilingual writer interested in exploring identity, race and gender. I have worked with cultural partners such as Commonword (a writing development organisation), Journeys Festival, CAN, Travelling Heritage Bureau (latter known as CIWA, a network of international women artists based in the North West), Divergency(artist development programme encouraging diversity in live art), Manchester International Festival and MACFEAST. I have also collaborated with communities such as Sheba Arts, Doosti, DIPACT and SWNG (Stockport Women Networking Group). I have published two books in Persian, and a few short fictions, in English, in various anthologies, written plays, performed solo and group shows and storytelling and exhibited work in galleries and libraries such as Manchester Art Gallery, Whitworth Art Gallery, The Lowry, HOME, Z arts, Stockport Central Library, Factory International, the Portico Library, Broughton Library, Pendleton Library and Failsworth Library.

I am the co-founder of Friends of Shahnameh and Coffee and Books groups. Friends of Shahnameh is an educational group (established in 2011) that celebrates Ferdowsi (Persian poet, 940 – 1020Ad) and his masterpiece Shahnameh. The group has collaborated with many academics and artists to create annual events and regular weekly workshops, for the past fifteen years. Coffee and Books (established in 2015) is a group of aspired writers and people who like reading from refugee and migrant background. Coffee & Books visit exhibitions and watch films together and discuss our views.

I have completed a PhD in Pharmacy and have experience of working as a teaching assistant in the University of Manchester for three years.
